Ryan Wang

I am a fourth-year undergrad studying computer science at the University of Southern California, where I am part of the USC Natural Language Processing Group. I am currently advised by Robin Jia and Swabha Swayamdipta on making models more controllably learn from undesired data like hate speech. I am grateful that my research has/is being supported by the USC Provost and CURVE Research Fellowships.

I'm generally interested in investigating data and architectural design choices during model pre-training that can make models safe and reliable.

Before NLP, I dabbled with a little bit of computational biology research.
